Briggs Road might be the most interesting road in Ipswich.

And not just Ipswich Ipswich, but the entire City LGA.

Coming off Salisbury Road, past the netball courts at Limestone Park, you swing left (or turn right) onto Briggs Road.

As you head south it’s Eastern Heights on your left and Ipswich on your right.

Keep going past Ipswich General Cemetery and you see the concrete plant tower.

Now you’re into Raceview.

Sapar Landscaping, Ipswich Hockey, the Cycle Park, Briggs Road Sporting Complex.

Go further. Now you enter Flinders View.

You pass the old Ipswich tip, which now hosts the Ipswich City Council depot. Then Boral Concrete. And hidden down towards Deebing Creek behind the fences is Ipswich’s 4th biggest wastewater pumping station, SP322.

Back to the Limestone park end…

…What do we find?

A small cluster of great Ipswich houses most people have never noticed.

Houses that have been there longer than the industry, the sports fields, and the suburb names around them.

Among them is this week’s feature house: Colton Villa.

Take a walk around:
