SPARK Ipswich turns 10 winter nights into a walk-through light, music and art playground you shouldn’t miss this winter

Details:

  • Where: Nicholas Street Precinct & d’Arcy Doyle Place (6-min walk from Ipswich Station)
  • Parking: Nicholas St multi-storey is free after 5 pm on weekdays and all weekend; before 5 pm the first three hours are free.
  • Cost key: Items marked FREE cost nothing; otherwise the price is listed.

Free Nightly Light & Sound Installations

  • πŸ’‘ deLIGHT – 5:30–8:30 pm nightly, 11-20 Jul. Buildings along Nicholas St become giant projection canvases; a different local artist each night.
  • 🎨 Neon: Play the Music – 4:30–8:30 pm nightly, 11-20 Jul, d’Arcy Doyle Pl. Giant neon drums, keyboards and mic that light up as you play.
  • 🎢 HEXADECA – Interactive spinning-seat sound playground, sessions all evening, 11-20 Jul, Nicholas St.
  • 🧸 Bubble Canteen – Bubble spectacular at 4:30 pm & 6:15 pm, Fri–Sun only (11-13 & 18-20 Jul).

  • 🎢 Carpark Party – Civic Centre carpark, Fri 11 & Sat 12 Jul then Fri 18 & Sat 19 Jul from dusk. Live bands, food trucks, deck-chairs. FREE
  • 🎢 WOMI (World of Music Ipswich) – Sun 13 Jul, 9 am-4 pm, Orion Springfield Central. Four stages of global beats, dance workshops, craft & food market. FREE
  • 🎨 IGNITE: Celebrating Creativity – Sat 19 Jul, 5:30-7:30 pm, Ipswich Art Gallery. After-hours art mixer with live music & pop-up bars (free but book online).

Sunday 20 July

  • 🧸 Little Day Out – 9-11:30 am & 1-3:30 pm, Ripley Town Centre (AU$5Β child, adults free). Eco-kids festival with cubby-building, tree-planting & silent disco.
